written by Niki Power
IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
Plans are now underway for the 2025 Ostomy Halifax Annual Christmas Auction! Last year’s auction raised nearly $8,000 to help send kiddos with ostomies to summer camp, and we’re so excited to do it all again! Read more about how we support campers here.
CHRISTMAS AUCTION DETAILS
🗓 When: Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
📍 Where: Brightwood Golf & Country Club – Click here for a map
Graham will start the bidding promptly at 1:15 p.m., so feel free to arrive early to grab your paddle, enjoy some refreshments, and get a good seat!
We’ll also be holding our ever-popular 50/50 draw, have some smaller items for sale, and the bar will be open—so don’t forget to bring some cash! Auction items can be paid for by cash or e-transfer to treasurer@ostomyhalifax.ca.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Are you a crafter, crocheter, painter, potter, baker, builder, or maker?
Handmade items prepared with love are always popular auction items!Ask for donations:
When you visit your favourite restaurant, service provider, or local shop, ask if they’d be willing to donate. They might surprise you! Gift certificates are a great idea and always a hit with bidders. Click here for an official donation letter, or pick up a few at our general meeting on November 2nd.Send photos of donations:
Snap a photo of any donated or handmade items and send it along with the donor’s name and approximate retail value to newsletter@ostomyhalifax.ca by Sunday, November 23rd. We can arrange pickup, or you can bring items along on auction day! Please note: we are not able to accept previously owned items for the auction.Spread the word:
Tell your family and friends and bring them (and their wallets) along! This is not a members-only event—it’s a great way to kick off your holiday shopping while supporting an amazing cause!
Please contact Cathy at 902-483-1568 (cathy.kilcup@live.com) or Niki at 902-223-0869 (newsletter@ostomyhalifax.ca) if you have any questions or need to arrange pickup of auction items.
One more thing:
This event will replace the general meeting previously scheduled for December 7, 2025.
