The Youth Fund

Whereas the Ostomy Halifax unrestricted “Founders Fund” is used to support all our activities, the segregated “Youth Fund” is restricted in so far as the capital is accounted for separately so that all income produced will be directed for young ostomates.

The Fund was suggested by Andrea Fanjoy and established in April 2021. Her deceased parents, Nan and Emery Fanjoy, were active Ostomy Halifax members who believed strongly in the value of special ostomy camps for young ostomates.

Financially supporting young ostomates from all four Atlantic provinces is one of our foundational programs. Spending a week together with other children with urinary and bowel issues and ostomies can be a life changing experience.
