Ostomy Halifax General Meeting
NEXT MEETING
Sunday, January 5th, 2025
Time & Location: 2pm-4pm ADT at Woodlawn United Church (54 Woodlawn Road, Dartmouth)
Our guest speaker is Sujay Khiroya, who has been a community pharmacist for 31 years. He will be talking about how medication might be absorbed differently by people with different types of ostomies, medication side effects, medications (OTC or prescription) that ostomates should be aware of; and more.
Sujay graduated from Dalhousie College of Pharmacy in 1993. Immediately upon graduation, he began working in community pharmacy where his work earned him local recognition for outstanding customer service as well as a national Pharmacy Practice “Commitment to Care Commitment to Care Award for Community Service in Pharmacy” Award for his dedication to his community and for his numerous professional contributions.
He previously owned and operated seven pharmacies in HRM, including Moffatt’s Pharmacy, one of HRM’s oldest pharmacies, still operating under it’s original name.
Sujay has worked in almost every aspect of the pharmacy profession and in both rural and urban locations. He believes that pharmacists are the most well prepared to help reduce Nova Scotia’s health care crisis today. He is passionate about his community and his profession.
Ostomy Halifax General Meetings are held on the first Sunday of the month (except in July & Aug - no meetings) at 2pm Atlantic time at Woodlawn United Church.
