STEP UP FOR OSTOMY - Join us on Sunday, October 4th, 2026

Every year, our Ostomy Halifax community comes together to support something bigger than ourselves, and we'd love for you to be part of it.

Step Up for Ostomy is a national fundraising and awareness campaign that brings people together to support individuals living with an ostomy while helping fund programs that make a real difference across Canada.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, volunteers, families, and friends, our team has raised thousands of dollars in previous years. We hope to continue that tradition on Sunday, October 4, 2026, and every contribution, big or small, helps make an impact.

The funds raised support important programs through Ostomy Canada, including:

  • The Ostomy Visitor Program

  • Ostomy Youth Camp

  • Education and collaboration between chapters and support groups across Canada

  • National advocacy initiatives that improve the lives of people living with an ostomy

Just as importantly, Step Up for Ostomy helps raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding ostomies by encouraging people to come together, get active, and be visible within their communities.

October General Meeting & Step Up Walk

This year, we'll once again combine our October general meeting with our Step Up for Ostomy walk. We'll enjoy an afternoon of friendship, conversation, and community before taking a relaxed walk together in support of this wonderful cause.

Whether you've been living with an ostomy for many years, are newly adjusting, or are a family member or friend, everyone is welcome. It's a wonderful opportunity to spend time together while supporting programs that benefit ostomates across Canada.

How You Can Get Involved

There are several simple ways to participate:

  • Join the Ostomy Halifax team and help raise funds through your participation.

  • Make a donation - every contribution, no matter the size, helps support important programs.

  • Invite your family and friends to support the campaign

Fundraising

You can choose to donate directly to the Ostomy Halifax team fundraising page or create your own individual fundraising page as part of our team.

Creating your own page allows you to set a personal fundraising goal while contributing to Ostomy Halifax's overall team total. It's a wonderful way to involve family, friends, neighbours, and coworkers in supporting a cause that's meaningful to you.
